Sedco, or the Seaman Engineering and Drilling Company, was the oil drilling company founded in 1949 by Daryl Seaman. It was the predecessor of the legendary Bow Valley Industries Limited, one of the most successful independent oil companies in Canadian history. Sedco's office building was constructed in 1959 in the Highfield area and was designed by Leslie E. Baker. Bow Valley left the building in the summer of 1966 and moved to the new Bradie Building.
