William Stanley "Stan" Denoon (1925-2010) was born on 19 August 1925 in Calgary to William Denoon (1881–1949) and Sadie Isobel Merriam (1891–1971). William Denoon had been born in Peterborough and came to Alberta in the 1880s. In 1915 William and Vern Parslow formed Parslow and Denoon, a livestock company at the Calgary Stockyards. After Stan graduated from Central High School, in September 1944 he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy and spent a short time on the West Coast. Upon leaving the Navy, Denoon returned to Calgary and joined Parslow and Denoon, where he spent the duration of his career.

On 28 November 1947 Denoon married Marjorie Grace Williams (1925-1970) at Grace Presbyterian Church. The couple had three children: George, Norman, and Judy. Stan Denoon died on 9 September 2010 at age 85.
