Stuart Gordon Jaques (1912–1989) was born in Calgary on 12 October 1927 to Albert and Florence Jaques. Gordon and his brother Bert both worked for the family clothing store, A.E. Jaques and Sons. The store was located at 1312 9th Ave SE. On 7 October 1948 Jaques married Muriel Amie Manarey (1929–1999) at Knox United Church. They had two daughters, Jacalynn and Geri. He died on 1 September 1989 at age 61.
