Richard Albert Norris "Dick" Bond (1921–2007) was the older brother of architect Kenneth Leon Bond (1924–2005), who designed this house. Dick was born in Calgary on 28 October 1921 to an Albertan pioneer family. He attended McDougal Elementary and Central Collegiate Institute. In World War II he served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Following the War, he enrolled in the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, where he graduated in December 1948. Upon graduation, Bond returned to Calgary and opened his own paediatric practise. He retired in 1991.

In 1942, Bond married Margaret Helen "Peggy" ____ (1918–1993). They had five children: Carolyn, Stephen, Barbara, Beth, and Doug. Bond died on 26 November 2007 at age 86.
