Maxwell Everet Moss (1923-2003) was born on 22 April 1916 in Medicine Hat to Israel (1882-1959) and Jennie (1887-1964) Moscovich. He had a brother, Jack, and a sister, Tootsie. At some point prior to 1939 he changed his surname to Moss. During WWII Moss served with the United States Army and was awarded the Bronze Star for his actions on Okinawa. After the War Moss financed the construction of Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club and served as its first Director.

Moss was married to Virginia ____ (1927-1996). They had three children: Deborah, Shelley, and Steven. He died on 18 December 2003 at age 87.
