The Royal Trust Building is an interesting specimen, as it straddles the 1950s and 1960s. On the right side, the glass and spandrel block is pure International Style, while on the left side, the elevator core with its pre-cast panels hints at brutalism to come. The building was essentially an update on Stevenson's Medical Centre Building from 1957. Stevenson's unbuilt Tankoos Yarmon Building followed this same concept of an office block with offset core also.

Only three of the planned six storeys were completed.
