The Neish Block was built for Leagh Kendal "Ken" Neish, a contractor based in Banff. The building was constructed of Ytong blocks. In its early years, it had an interesting assortment of tenants, including Alberta Ytong Manufacturing, Albert Dale & Associates (architects), and Read Jones Christoffersen (engineers of Vancouver).
