The wildly futuristic Forest Lawn Shopping Centre was planned by Albert Dale in 1955. It would have been located on 17th Avenue on the site of the Green Gardens Motel. The shopping centre was part of a major development for which Dale was the overall architect. Dale arrived in Calgary from England in 1953, and in 1955 he was working as a consultant. In January 1956 he would found his long-time firm A. Dale and Associates.
