BOW VALLEY BUILDING
Firm: unknown
Address: 627 6 Avenue SW
Date: 1960
Status: demolished in 1973
The Bow Valley Building was a 2.5-storey office block with a 50' façade. It sat next to the Alpine Building on 6 Avenue. The company that built it was called Canadian Property Holders. In the illustration below, the crest above the door is of the Metropolitan Estate & Property Company. Assuming they built this office, it's likely that J. H. Cook was the architect, since he designed MEPC's other Calgary building, the Britannia Building.
In 1973, Austin Ford demolished the Bow Valley to construct the Ford Tower, which still stands today.
