SINGER TOWERS

Firm: Abugov and Sunderland

Address: 510 9 Avenue SW

Date of final plans: 1957, 1958, 1961

Singer Towers was actually three failed projects. The first was a 21-storey office tower that was rejected because of a height restriction of 12 storeys. The second was a four-storey, circular office building. It's unclear why this project didn't go ahead. Both projects were designed by Abugov and Sunderland.

In 1961 Singer sold the property to Sam Switzer who planned an apartment-hotel designed by Bill Milne. This also failed to materialise.
